You Are The Light

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Light is bright, radiant, and brilliant — it illuminates the darkness and helps people to see. Through our actions, we should spread God’s love, His truth, His blessings, etc. Our light shines bright when we are in the will of God, following His way and plans for us. We learn His will for us by growing in the Word of God and in a relationship with Jesus. Our light should do what it was meant to do – SHINE! So let your light shine.

Wisdom

Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction“. To appreciate this scripture we must begin to understand what it means to fear the Lord? Fear in this context does not refer to terror, but the feeling that you have when you’re in the presence of greatness: awe and reverence. Therefore, the fear of the Lord is a consciousness of the true nature of God; that a GREAT GOD, the God of the heavens and the earth is always present and He watches over us and our actions. This reverence and consciousness of being in the presence of a Holy God inspires our actions to be pure, gentle, godly, full of mercy, and of good report, given that nothing escapes His attention. This translates into wise behaviors and an upright lifestyle; a lifestyle lived by godly instruction and according to the will of God. When we understand who God is, this is the beginning of wisdom since without godly counsel and direction we make decisions based on our human understanding, which is unwise according to proverbs 28:26 “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered“. When we live an godly lifestyle this is the path to wisdom and everyone benefits.

2 Areas We Struggle to Trust God With

#1, Money – Jesus said where our money is that’s where our heart is. Where you spend the most of your money is a reflection of what you value most.
#2, Relationships – People struggle with a bad marriage or with singleness and the fear that depending on God for a godly partner will keep them alone for a long time. It’s easier to leave a bad marriage or compromise on our love life and take the easy way out. But if you can just trust God in a marriage or in the wait, He will always lead you to far better and greater and to a glorious end. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future“.

The Lord is Sufficient for all of our needs

2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Your trouble, circumstance, weakness, hardships, and persecution are not meant to overcome you. No, it is a good time for God to show Himself strong on your behalf; for God to turn the affliction for His good purpose to glorify Jesus and/or build godly confidence.
